Announcing the iPod Challenge
According to my iTunes, I have 10,109 songs on my computer, all of which are loaded on my 60 gig ipod video, which is now somewhere between obsolete and vintage. My goal is, by the end of 2011, to listen to every song on the iPod.
I have a lot of songs for several reasons. the first is the obvious fact that I am a ridiculous audiophile who cannot get enough music. Besides brandishing a comprehensive library in the normal pop/rock fields, I also have a considerable amount of world music…days worth. When I couldn’t find new music to listen to, I would retreat back into music from the past, whether baroque classical or big band jazz. Also, others have loaded music onto my iPod when my computer served as a communal jukebox. That would explain why I have hours and hours of polish pop, rap, and death metal.
So here I go…
Here are the rules:
1. I will listen to songs IN ORDER, as the iPod naturally goes in order by song. This means they are grouped by artist, then album, then alphabetical order.
2. If a song is bad/poorly produced/not mastered, I only have to listen to a minute of it.
3. If it’s an album I frequently listen to, and thus am not redisovering, I can skip it, but am free to listen to it anyways.
4. I must finish by December 31st, 2011.
It’s on! Also let me know if you want to join me in this challenge!
